New tech for school always sounds great. But then you see the price tag: laptops, tablets, faster internet – the list never ends. It’s no surprise that the PTA or PTO gets asked to help out. Suddenly, everyone’s talking about fundraisers.
So, is candy actually enough? You’d be surprised. When you add up all the little sales—Smarties at the front desk, Katydids at the basketball game, sour gummy worms at pickup, it’s not small change. Kids like selling them, people like buying them, and a few dollars here and there start to add up pretty quickly.
Still, technology isn’t cheap. Candy sales may not cover the cost of a whole new computer lab. But they might pay for new headphones, chargers, or whatever else your school is in need of. Sometimes, that’s the difference between a class going smoothly or being stuck with tech that doesn’t work.

Plus, candy fundraising has another perk: everyone gets to chip in. Even families who can’t give much can grab a few treats. Teachers and staff can also participate. Before long, it’s a group effort that truly works!
