Fundraising for Project Graduation

Project Graduation has become one of those events everyone talks about long before senior year even starts. It gives students a safe place to celebrate, and most families feel better knowing the school is helping keep the night on track. The tricky part is paying for it. Renting a space, planning activities, setting up food tables and prizes can drain a budget fast.

Most committees end up turning to fundraisers because they work and they don’t require a full event staff to run. Candy sales tend to be one of the easier options. People like buying something small that supports a good cause, and it doesn’t feel like a big ask. Items like America’s Favorite Candies in a Tin or Katydids are familiar enough that supporters don’t need a long explanation. They also hold up well during the busy months when everything gets juggled between school, sports and family events.

A strong fundraiser usually starts early. The goal gets divided into pieces, and the group chips away at it week by week. When parents, teachers and neighbors know exactly what the money is for, they usually jump in right away. It helps that Project Graduation is something everyone understands. It keeps seniors together, gives them something fun to look forward to and takes the pressure off families who would rather avoid the usual worries that come with graduation night.
